Friendly race on a great route.

Challenging course but friendly atmosphere, good course markings and great mix of trails and roads.

Challenging 10K in the heat.

Challenging 10K in the heat but good route, well signed and well stoked aid stations.

Very hot but enjoyable trail race.

Starting an hour earlier would have helped with the hot weather but the route is great and the atmosphere was brilliant.

The medal and scenery motivated me to do this event, great scenic route well marked out friendly check points. It was a very hot day so was challenging but pleased I did it and got the medal

More check points would
Be good especially when it’s so hot

Great Event

Great event, wonderful route with beautiful views.
Marked out perfectly adequately, the GPX is spot on. Checkpoint supplies are good with sweets, crisps, water & pop.. much needed on such a warm day!
Really friendly and supportive atmosphere.
Definitely recommend giving it a go, the inclines are big enough to walk and the flat/downhills can be enjoyed with speed

Amazing route, fantastic views. Well organised!

A very challenging route, particularly on a baking hot day with little shade. Fantastic route, amazing views. Well signposted and communicated, including linking the route for running watches to use. My only criticism would be perhaps to add another water station around mile 7

Lovely friendly event, beautiful trail

Didn't feel like doing the half due to the heat and it was super easy to just drop down to the 10k. Thanks for that! Also love the medal!

Fun event with lovely atmosphere!

This was such a fun event on a (very) warm day! The organisers were great at communicating the race time change due to the heat and ensured that we were all safe for the run. I roped some friends into the half marathon and we all had a lovely time. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the marshalls were so friendly, with some great snacks along the way! I would highly recommend.

Brilliant!

Really well marked route, friendly Marshalls and beautiful scenery. I did the 10k and of all the routes they could have picked the elevation wasn’t bad at all. I’m more of a walker but I think if you’re new to trail or a road runner this course would be an excellent opportunity to get a PB. Loved the laid back and welcoming atmosphere and will definitely be back.

Challenging and Beautiful

Really only a couple of things that could improve the experience.

1. Race numbers were rather large, given most runners wear packs. Had to fold mine to fit on my shirt as did others.

2. A physical start/finish line. Doesn’t need to be an inflatable or structured one, but something to signify the line.

Organiser comment:

Thanks for the feedback - the race numbers are the UKA and ARC sized bibs.

Heaven in 26,000 Steps!

You may imagine that this race with some tougher trail terrain to begin with would put you off, but good things come to those who wait. Once you rise to the top you soak in the beauty of the Long Mynd, followed by the most amazing checkpoint which takes nutrition stations to another level. I did the half marathon, and I’m so glad I did because you get an extended view of the vistas and amazing scenery. Once you finish the first checkpoint you have a lovely descent into the other side of the valley followed by another great checkpoint and then return to the original checkpoint and a nice descent into Carding Mill Valley to the finish. Tough yes in some parts, but don’t be put off, because heaven awaits!
